To Serve with Love
By John Neeley
January 24th, 2012

Spanning the globe.... That's the way ABC introduced Wide Wide World of Sports. Spinning the racket....

That doesn't have quite the same ring, does it? At any rate, here's a first for Officiating.com, an article on tennis: prep rules, coaching restrictions, refereeing.

9/11 - The Day the World Changed Forever
One year ago
By Blaine Gallant
September 12th, 2011

Note: Today is 9/12. In keeping with that, we are reprising one of Baine Gallant's most celebrated pieces. It was originially published on the first annivesary of the bombing of the World Trade Center. Here's what we and he said on that date.

Even if you're not a member of Officiating.com, you can click the title and read Blaine's piece. Here at the office we suddenly realized how truly close our Canadian "brothers" are to us.

Appropriately, it also plays a major part in fitness.

In this installment, we introduce "zone training" and lay the groundwork to attack the heart — before it attacks us.

What do Jim Evans, a world-class umpire and umpire trainer, and Dr. P.Z. Pearce, a world-class sports physician and Ironman Triathlete, have in common? The answer is conveniently located at the end of this installment. If you're a subscriber, c'mon inside and find out.
Keeping in Shape — Part III
By that I mean...
By Garth Benham
August 19th, 2011

We know that fit officials perform better, feel better, and look better. They don't experience as many injuries. They don't have as many aches and pains after long, tough games. And, ultimately, all other things being equal, they generally progress to higher levels more quickly.

So, let's get fit, whatever that means.
