Officiating.com: You’ve been out of football officiating for 10+ years. Having watched your kids play football at the high school and college level, between then and now, what, if anything, did you notice that was different about the officials, other than they occasionally made bad calls against your kids’ teams? [Laughter]
LeFlore: Since you already mentioned the obvious — bad calls against my kids — [Laughter] I would say that after 30 years of officiating, I notice the higher the level, the better the officiating, which may also have a cause and effect; more officials are used as one goes from high school to college.
Officiating.com: What advice would you give officials who are just getting started?
LeFlore: Learn the rules, don’t take the razzing from coaches and fans personally, and enjoy the game.
